Mr. Tshiring Jangbu Sherpa

Tshiring Jangbu Sherpa, Senior Climbing Guide at Himalaya Land Treks & Expedition (IFMGA Guide), born on August 1, 1977, in Thulung Dhudkosi 9, Solukhumbu, Nepal, is celebrated as the "Father of Ski in Nepal." He began his trekking career as a kitchen boy for an Everest Base Camp trek and discovered his passion for mountaineering, marking his first significant climb with Lhotse in 2003 as an assistant guide. With years of experience, Tshiring has become a certified International Mountain Guide (IFMGA) since 2016, a board member of Nepal Mountain Academy, General Secretary of Nepal National Mountain Guide Association, and a member of Nepal Mountaineering Association. His major achievements include three successful ascents of Mount Everest and thirteen successful climbs of other 8000m+ mountains such as Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Manaslu, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, and Shishapangma. He completed ski training in Europe and led ski courses in Nepal. Notably, he was the lead guide for the Everest Measurement Project in 2019, which determined the new official height of Mount Everest (8848.86m). Tshiring has also led mountain cleaning campaigns, removing significant waste from peaks like Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Himlung, and Lobuje Peak. He holds multiple certifications, including Specialty Rescue Module Training (2009), Trekking Guide Training (2011), Aspirant Guide Training (2012), IFMGA Mountain Guide Training (2015/16), and Mountain Instructor Certification Course (2023). As an instructor, he has taught various mountaineering and rescue courses at the Nepal Mountain Academy and other institutions, serving as Chief Instructor for rock climbing and field research expeditions. His accolades include numerous appreciation awards from the Nepal Mountaineering Association and the Nepal Government, Summiteer Awards for Everest and other peaks, and a Diamond Award for Makalu. Fluent in English, Nepali, Hindi, and Tibetan, Tshiring's notable expeditions encompass Mt Lhotse (2003, 2008, 2011, 2012), Mt Shisapangma (2004), Mt Everest (2006, 2007, 2019), Mt Manaslu (2014), Mt Makalu (2016), Mt Brikuti Shail Ski (2018), Mt Mera Peak (2020), Mt Lobuje Peak (2022), Mt Kanchenjunga (2023), Mt Annapurna (2023), and Mt Himlung (2023).
