Himalaya Land Trek is a team of young and dedicated individuals who specialize in trekking, tours, hiking, and more. We are committed to making a positive impact on the communities we serve by providing emergency assistance and supporting education, water, sanitation, and hygiene projects. We believe in lifting our community and strive to make a difference through our work.
COVID-19 Emergency Response and Recovery
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on Nepal and the world. At Himalaya Land Trek, we have been working tirelessly to respond to and recover from the crisis. Although tourism has been one of the hardest-hit sectors, we have not relied solely on our finances. Instead, we have contributed to the supply of various medical items, including oxygen concentrators, surgical masks, face shields, oximeters, and food and blankets, to 35 districts in Nepal, including Dhading, Nuwakot, and Manang. Our Managing Director, Mr. Ram Banjara, has been on the ground during the response, contributing his time and resources to support those in need. Additionally, we have provided 150 oxygen concentrators, 3000 sanitizers, 3000 gloves, 3000 oximeters, and 300000 surgical masks to support medical care during the crisis. This support was especially crucial for rural communities that lacked access to medical care. During lockdowns, we were also able to feed 3000 families and provide blankets to those in need.
Support for Social Upliftment
We are committed to social upliftment and have a policy in place where 20% of our profits go to charity. We organize health camps in rural areas where residents receive free medical examinations and medicines. We also work to raise awareness about the importance of health and hygiene. Additionally, we offer free English language classes to improve the spoken and written English of school-going children in remote regions of Nepal. Our efforts to promote tourism in rural areas have also increased employment opportunities for locals, and we work to promote the use of local products.
Support for Guides and Porters
Guides and porters are among the hardest-hit within the tourism industry, as their income relies on regular travel. At Himalaya Land Trek, we have provided food assistance to help guides and porters during the pandemic. We have also trained them on the development of the tourism industry to help them provide better service and build tourism enterprise. Furthermore, we offer first aid training to guides and porters to help in emergencies.
Sustainability in Business
We adhere to the Sustainable Development Principles and contribute to a range of issues, including waste management and environmental awareness. During our trips, we make an effort to use as little plastic as possible, and we work to promote environmental awareness programs. We have a strong commitment to developing the communities we serve through education, health, and sustainable development. We are involved in construction, painting classrooms, building libraries, and toilets in schools.
Equal Opportunity Employer
We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, marital status, age, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic information, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression, veteran status, or any other status protected under law. High-Quality Service and Customer Safety
At Himalaya Land Trek, we prioritize high-quality service and customer safety. We want our customers to have the best experience on their trip and make it a memorable one. During treks, we follow government-approved COVID-19 protocols to ensure safe travel.
In conclusion, Himalaya Land Trek is a business that believes in lifting our community. We are dedicated to making a positive impact on the communities we serve by providing emergency assistance, supporting education, water
sanitation, and hygiene initiatives, we believe that access to clean water and sanitation facilities is a basic human right. We have installed water filtration systems in various communities that lack access to clean water. Through our efforts, we have been able to provide clean drinking water to over 3000 households in remote parts of Nepal.
We also focus on promoting hygiene practices, especially in areas that lack proper sanitation facilities. We have constructed numerous public toilets in rural areas that are used by both locals and trekkers. Our goal is to make sure that everyone has access to basic hygiene facilities.
In addition to our social and environmental initiatives, we also prioritize safety. We understand that trekking and touring can be risky, so we take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our clients. We provide trained guides, porters, and first aid support during all of our trips. We also ensure that all of our equipment and facilities are up to date and meet safety standards.
At Himalaya Land Trek, we strive to create a positive impact on society and the environment while providing high-quality services to our clients. Our commitment to social responsibility and sustainable practices sets us apart from other tour and trekking companies. We believe that through our efforts, we can make a difference in the lives of the people we serve while also promoting responsible tourism.
