Day01 Arrival at Kathmandu (1,320m/4,330ft)
On Day 1, you will arrive in Kathmandu at an altitude of 1,320m/4,330ft. Our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You can rest and relax for the rest of the day or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, a popular tourist hub in Kathmandu. In the evening, there will be a pre-trek briefing where you can meet your trekking guide and ask any questions you may have about the Tamang Heritage Trek.
Day02 Drive from Kathmandu to Sybrubensi (1503m/4931ft)
On the second day of the Tamang Heritage Trek, we will drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi which is located at an altitude of 1503m/4931ft. The drive takes approximately 7-8 hours and offers stunning views of the Nepalese countryside.
Upon arrival in Syabrubesi, we will check into our hotel and have some time to rest and explore the town. Syabrubesi is a beautiful village located on the banks of the Bhote Koshi River and is the starting point of the trek. We will spend the night in Syabrubesi.
Day03 Trek from Sybrubensi to Gatlang (2238m/7343ft)
The trail goes through lush forests and picturesque villages with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Along the way, you will cross several suspension bridges and climb some steep uphill sections.
As you reach Gatlang, you will be welcomed by the friendly locals and have the chance to explore the village. Gatlang is a traditional Tamang village with unique cultural practices and architecture. You can visit the local monastery and interact with the locals to learn about their way of life.
You will spend the night in a teahouse in Gatlang, enjoying the serene mountain atmosphere and the warm hospitality of the Tamang people.
Day04 Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m/8553ft)
We will start the day with an early breakfast in Gatlang before beginning our trek. The trail initially descends down to the Chilime Khola River, which we will cross via a suspension bridge. From here, the trail begins to climb up towards Tatopani.
We will pass through several small villages and cross numerous streams and waterfalls along the way. The trail will take us through beautiful rhododendron and bamboo forests, providing ample opportunities to spot local wildlife.
After several hours of trekking, we will finally reach Tatopani, a small village famous for its natural hot springs. Here, we will have a chance to relax our tired muscles in the hot springs and enjoy the stunning mountain views before settling in for the night.
Day05 Trek from Tatopani to Thuman (2338m/7671ft) via Nagthali Ghyang (3165m/10384ft)
We start our day with an early breakfast and begin our trek towards Nagthali Ghyang. The trail climbs steeply through dense forests of pine and rhododendron, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. We will reach Nagthali Ghyang, a small village situated at an altitude of 3165m/10384ft after a few hours of trekking.
Nagthali Ghyang is famous for its panoramic views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and Sanjen ranges. We will take some time to rest and soak in the beauty of the place before continuing our trek towards Thuman.
The trail from Nagthali Ghyang to Thuman is a gradual descent through a forested path. As we descend, we will come across several traditional Tamang villages that provide us with a glimpse of their unique culture and lifestyle.
We will finally reach Thuman, a beautiful Tamang village located at an altitude of 2338m/7671ft. The village is famous for its ancient monasteries, beautiful architecture, and friendly locals. We will spend the night in a local tea house and get a chance to interact with the locals and learn more about their culture and traditions.
Day06 Trek from Thuman to Timure (1762m/5781ft) and Explore to Rasuwagadhi (1814m/5951ft)
We will be passing through beautiful rhododendron forests and traditional Tamang villages, enjoying the stunning mountain views along the way. Once we arrive in Timure, we will have some time to rest and explore the local area. We can also take a short excursion to the nearby border town of Rasuwagadhi, which is only a 30-minute walk from Timure. Rasuwagadhi is an important trading hub between Nepal and Tibet, and we can witness the vibrant cross-border trade and commerce here.
In Rasuwagadhi, we can visit the historical Rasuwagadhi Fort, which is believed to be more than 200 years old and played a significant role in the trade between Nepal and Tibet. We can also interact with the friendly locals and learn about their unique culture and way of life. In the evening, we return to Timure for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay in a guesthouse.
Day07 Trek from Timure to Briddhim (2229m/7313ft)
The trail initially passes through some beautiful rice paddies before heading uphill towards a small village called Lingling. From here, the trail continues to climb gradually until it reaches the village of Briddhim.
Briddhim is a picturesque village that is situated on a hill overlooking the Bhote Koshi River. The village is known for its unique architecture and is home to a community of Tamang people who have preserved their traditional way of life. There are several guesthouses and homestays in Briddhim where trekkers can stay and experience the local culture.
Along the way, trekkers will be able to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains, including the Langtang range. The trail also passes through several small villages and offers a glimpse into the daily lives of the locals.
Day08 Trek from Briddhim to Sybrubensi (1503m/4931ft)
From Briddhim, the trekking trail follows the Bhote Koshi River and passes through dense forests, terraced fields, and several small settlements. The trail gradually descends to the town of Wangel, which offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. After a short rest in Wangel, the trail continues to Sybrubensi.
As you descend towards Sybrubensi, you'll notice the lush greenery and varied flora and fauna of the area. You'll also get to cross several suspension bridges and encounter locals on the way, who will greet you with a friendly 'Namaste' (hello). Sybrubensi is a small town with basic amenities and is the gateway to the Langtang National Park.
Day09 Drive from Sybrubensi to Kathmandu by Private Vehicle (1300m/4265ft) | Farewell Dinner
After breakfast in Sybrubensi, we will begin our journey back to Kathmandu. We will travel by private vehicle, and the drive will take approximately 5-6 hours. The road winds through beautiful landscapes and picturesque villages as we make our way back to the bustling city of Kathmandu.
Once we arrive in Kathmandu, we will head straight to our hotel to freshen up and relax. In the evening, we will have a lovely farewell dinner hosted by Himalaya Land Treks. This is a chance to celebrate the successful completion of our Tamang Heritage Trek and to share our experiences with one another.
During the dinner, we will have the opportunity to try some traditional Nepali dishes and enjoy cultural performances by local artists. We will also receive certificates of completion and share our final thoughts on the trek with our fellow trekkers and guides.
Day10 Departure from Kathmandu
On the final day of your trip, our representative will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight back home or to your onward destination.
